Informal VS formal NO.2

Using informal:

A friend of yours

One of your family members

One of your relatives

When you are writing to someone that you have a close relationship with

A company-your boss a head of a deprartment your university professor your teacher-your doctor using formal email.

When you are writing to someone that you have a professional relationship with -formal email

1-Apology

-Your friend asked you to do something and you can’t.

-You did sth wrong and you want to make up.

-You haven’t been able to respond to his/her emails.

2-Request

-You want sth from your friend.

-You want to ask them for a fever.

-You want them to do sth for you.

3-Complaint

-You were unsatisfind with sth, you didn’t like sth they have done

-The did sth wrong and made you angry

-You want  to let them know that you are unhappy

4-satisfaction

-You are happy/ pleased with sth

-You wanna thank them about sth

-You want to express your satisfaction and happiness about sth

  1. asking information

-You want to know sth they have information you don’t have

-They can help you in a way

6-giving good news

Sth good has happened and you want to share with them

7-giving bad news

To break the news= to give bad news to someone

1-Apology

I am very sorry ..a.., but…b…

a: your bad behavior

b: a good reason/excuse

I am terribly sorry that I didn’t reply sooner, but I’ve been really busy recently.

I’m very sorry for my last email, but you have to understand that I was under a lot of pressure.

I was delighted to hear that you won a medal.

5-Asking information

6-Giving good news

I’m thrilled to tell  you that…

I am thrilled to tell you that I’m coming to your town this weekend!

7-Giving bad news
