Exam is the usual word for a written, spoken or practical test at school or college, especially an important one that you need to do the order to get a qualification. Examination is a very formal word. A test is something that students might be given in addition to ,or sometime instead of, regular exams, to see how much they ave learned. A very short see how much they have learned. A very short informal test is called a quiz in NAmE. Quiz is both NAmE and BrE also means a contest in which people try to answer questions. exam为常用词、指学校的笔试、口试或操作考试、尤指为取得学历必须参加的重要考试。examination是很正式的词。test指除正规考试外，对学生所学知识的测试，有时也取代正规考试。在北美英语中非正规的小测验称为quiz；在北美英语和英国英语中quiz亦指问答竞赛。
