Don't react emotionally. If you don't want to lower your price (you shouldn't) or make concessions, stay cool. Respond objectively.

Here's an example response:
"I believe my rate is fair given the quality I provide. I hope you think the same. If not, I respect your needs as an entrepreneur to find a cheaper option, but I am not that option. Since you mentioned future opportunities, I would be happy to give you a discount if you want to pre-pay now. There are cost savings for me when we produce work in volume. Otherwise it's just not possible. Please let me know how you'd like to proceed.
