Happy Rain on a Spring Night    Du Fu

春夜喜雨  【唐】杜牧

Good rain knows its time right, it will fall when comes spring.

好雨知时节，当春乃发生。

With wind it steals in night, it wets everything.

随风潜入夜，润物细无声。

Over wild lanes dark cloud spreads, in boat a lantern looms.

野径云俱黑，江船火独明。

Dawn sees saturated reds, the town's heavy with blooms.

晓看红湿处，花重锦官城。

【译文】

一场好雨会自择吉时良辰，会在春天最好的那一刻抵达，不早也不晚。

雨丝乘着温柔的和风悄悄潜入夜的每一个角落，细细地润泽人间万物。

看那乌云藏起了山间的小径，看那渔火画亮了江上的船影。

等到天亮，会看见到处都是刚刚开好的戴着露水的花儿，会看见锦城真的繁花似锦。

【赏析】

这首四写于唐肃宗上元二年（761年）春。那时杜甫已在成都草堂定居两年，亲自耕作，种菜养花，诗中，诗境和画境浑然一体，一页春雨，满纸喜悦。
